Vena Yvette Fant was born November 12, 1964 to Alex and Azile Green. She was the last of six children born to this union. She grew up and lived in Flint all of her life. She attended Northwestern High School, and worked for Rite Aid in the shipping department for seven years. In the early years of her life she worshiped at Miracle Missionary Baptist Church and though she visited many different churches, she decided to make Galilean Baptist Church her home.

Vena was a kind person with a warm heart. She would give you the shirt off her back. She loved to have fun and often was the life of the party. She really enjoyed playing games with the grand-children and other children in the family. In her spare time, she enjoyed family gatherings and cooking her favorite holiday meals. She was looking forward to spending her holiday with the family and marrying her fiance of 19 years Darnell Miller.

She leaves to cherish her memory: fiance, Darnell Miller; daughter Kanisha Fant,; three step-daughters, Twayna Powell, Fanta (Ahmad) Patton and Latanya Carter all of Flint; 2 sisters, Drusilla (Gary) Dent and Rosemary (Charles) Willingham-Holliman of Flint; 2 brothers, Al Anderson Green (Connie Harbert) of Germany and Alex Bruce Green (Kim Richard) of Flint; 11 grandchildren, Devon Clyburn, Darnell Mason, Keana and Keonte Fant-Thompson, Reggie Ross, Ritchie Carter, Tylon May, Nakia McDaniel, Ahmaria and Ahrmani Patton, and Taliyah Sanders. She also leaves a host of well loved friends and other family as well as childhood friends Karen Beasley, Denver Strong and Shirley Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mr. Alex and Mrs. Azile Green; sister Cassandra Green; son, Rayshard Fant, and special nephew James J. Willingham.

The family would like to thank Vogt's Flowers, Hurley Medical Center and staff, the Flint Police, the Michigan State Police, Pastor Sean Payne and the entire Galilean Baptist Church family. The family would like to thank all those who knew and loved Vena and those who helped throughout this whole experience.
